EMPOWERING ADVOCACY: WORKSHOP ORGANIZED BY LEO IGWE

As part of our capacity building, Basic Rights Counsel Initiative was privileged to engage in a transformative one-day workshop led by Leo Igwe of Advocacy for Alleged Witches (AFAW). This session was an important step in enhancing our approach to combating witchcraft accusations and fostering critical thinking.

Leo Igwe, a respected advocate, shared profound insights and strategies aimed at addressing the alarming issue of witchcraft accusation and combating practices within exorcising churches. The workshop emphasized the importance of holding accountable those who perpetuate witch hunting, especially pastors.

In addition to this enlightening focus, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers also received comprehensive training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), equipping them with vital first aid skills for emergency situations.

We are empowered to continue our mission to eradicate witchcraft accusation and branding. This experience has strengthened our resolve to promote critical thinking and advocate for justice. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Leo Igwe and AFAW for their invaluable contributions, and commend our staff and volunteers for their unwavering commitment to positive change!
