Other outstanding Nigerians that made the list include Grammy award-winning Nigerian  Afro-fusion singer, songwriter and performing artiste Burna Boy, another of Nigeria’s musical icons, Davido; the Pastor of House on the Rock, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, acclaimed novelist, Chimamanda Adichie; and the co-founder of Flutterwave, Agboola, Olugbenga

“Changemakers: 100 Nigerians Leading Transformational Change”, is an annual biographical compendium that recognises ingenious Nigerians who are set to change the world, and some who are already knee-deep doing exactly that in different fields of endeavour.”

They include trail-blazing scientists, iconic entertainers and artists, groundbreaking engineers and change-makers, media moguls, and thought leaders.”, Abam said

According to the publishers, Profiles & Biographies, the compendium is part of the firm’s modest efforts to contribute to identifying a visionary and enduring leadership in Nigeria, adding that the men and women profiled in the book have a huge potential to contribute enormously in shaping Nigeria in 2022

The Project Director and CEO of Profiles & Biographies, Kammonke Abam, said “each year, beginning from 2022, we shall present a carefully selected 100 distinguished Nigerians making extraordinary strides and impact as Nigeria’s human rainbow. These men and women are symbolic of rainbow in the Nigerian sky. They are the arc of hope of a desired future for the country after a rainstorm of uninspiring leadership since independence”, Abam, said

The statement adds, “2021 was a year of challenges for many Nigerians. The world started reopening gradually from the pandemic but sadly, not in Nigeria. Instead, the elasticity of the patience of Nigerians was stretched to the limits from insecurity, galloping inflation, joblessness, and other unsavoury experiences, with many losing their jobs, their businesses, their joy, and sadly their lives.”

“In all these, there are those who fought through the undulating weather and uncertain times of 2021 and came out strong though not without scars. To the glory of God, this is victory for the average Nigerian still alive. The ordinary Nigerian in the street deserves some accolades. However, we have been able to monitor and distill news of extraordinary feats by some of these Nigerians, and it is these people whose profiles we are sharing as Changemakers. They are pioneers and rule breakers, thinkers and instigators, and above all, people who are committed to changing the world”, the statement added

Abam opined that “Nigeria is our collective patrimony. We must therefore do the needful to preserve it. We believe that Nigeria deserves a better deal than it currently has, especially in terms of leadership.

For years, Profiles & Biographies has led the way in profiling some of the most outstanding Nigerians from around the globe who are who are making impact and contributing to the development of the society.
