OUR TEAM MEMBERS


JAMES IBOR (PRINCIPAL COUNSEL)

Jams Ibor is a Co-founder, and the Principal Counsel at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI). He is a UNICEF certified Case Management Expert; he is also the current secretary of Cross River State Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee. He coordinates the implementation of BRCI’s strategic projects .


ESEOGHENE EDOJA IBOR (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR)

Eseoghene is a co-founder, and the Executive Director at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI). She is a social worker with over 12 years of experience working with women and children. She’s passionate about children and their wellbeing. She supervises the implementation of all BRCI Programmes.


JOY ADEBAYO (PROGRAMMES MANAGER)

Joy Adebayo is the Programmes Manager with Basic Rights Counsel Initiative. She is a passionate Public Health advocate with over 10 years of experience in the development sector. She holds an MPH, a B.Sc. in Parasitology and Entomology, and a certification in Project Management in Global Health. With experience working on USAID and Global Fund programmes, she excels in advocacy, community engagement, and project management. She is committed to improving the lives of women, children, and vulnerable groups through justice, equity, and sustainable impact.


CHRISTIANA ANNOINTED ENOH (SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER)

Christiana is a Senior Legal Officer at BRCI. Christiana is a child’s right advocate and lawyer with over 10 years of post-call experience. She handles all BRCI cases involving abused children and indigent women at the Family Court.


ONI DAVIDS (GENDER FOCAL PERSON)

Oni Davids is gender focal person at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI). She’s a lawyer/ Case worker who is passionate about improving the well-being of women and children, she has also been involved with development work for over 8 years.

KEHOLE ENYA (LEGAL OFFICER)

Kehole Enya is a legal officer at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI) with over 8 years post call experience. He is a passionate and goal oriented individual with the capacity of tackling legal issues with utmost professionalism in meeting the organization’s core objectives.


OBANGHE TATEH (LEGAL OFFICER / SPONSORSHIP OFFICER – ACTIONAID NIGERIA PROJECT)

Obanghe Tateh is a legal officer and the Sponsorship Officer on the ActionAid Nigeria project at the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), with over 10 years of post-call experience. She is a highly experienced and purpose-driven legal professional, passionate about promoting the rights of women and children. Her dual role combines legal expertise with a strong commitment to community development, making her a key asset in advancing both justice and sustainable impact through BRCI’s core interventions.


EBITI, VICTOMIRA (LEGAL OFFICER)

Ebiti, Victomira is a Legal Officer with Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, with over 5 years of post-call experience. She oversees the Fostering and Adoption, as well as the Family Court Department. She is a committed and detail-oriented professional who handles legal and child protection matters with compassion and precision, ensuring that every case aligns with due process and the organization’s mandate to protect the rights of children.


UDUAK AKPOBARE (LEGAL OFFICER)

Uduak Akpobare is a Legal Officer with Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, with over 4 years of post-call experience. She is passionate about promoting the rights and welfare of vulnerable children and women, contributing meaningfully to the organization’s mission through her legal expertise and commitment.


JANSI OMINI (COMMUNICATION OFFICER/COUNSELOR)

Jansi Omini is a goal-getter, who is passionate about helping people, a good listener and an advocate for survivors of Gender-Based Violence. Her job description at BRCI includes providing psychosocial support for survivors of Gender-Based Violence and maintaining the organization’s image and activities through social media visibility.


MICAH ENI (ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT & PROCUREMENT OFFICER)

Micah Eni is the administrative assistance, and the procurement officer at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI). He’s a dedicated and hard-working individual who ensures all administrative and logistical needs of the organisation are met for optimal results.


ABDULLAHI USMAN (ACCOUNTANT)

Abdullahi Usman is the Accountant with Basic Rights Counsel Initiative. He is a detail-driven and organized accountant, a professional with 4years + of experience in financial management, supporting finance and accounting operations. He has experience in all facets of finance management activities, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, workflow management, and cost control. He is highly skilled in preparing financial statements, project management/budgets, reconciling accounts & building strong relationships with clients and vendors.


MARIA OJU SAMUEL (SHELTER MANAGER).

Maria Samuel is the shelter manager at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative with over 6 years experience in child right protection. She oversees the day to day running of our shelter.


DULCINETTA OFUKA (CASE WORKER/ ASSISTANT SHELTER MANAGER)

Dulcinetta Ofuka is the Assistant Shelter Manager with Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI). She is a professional, involved in child protection matters.
